I wanted to let you know about…

Culture & Communication

For its fourth edition, MIA features 180 Italian and international exhibitors, all of them presenting solo shows of famous or up-and- coming photographers. Enrica Viganò, curator, photography critic and owner of Admira, a Milan based agency dedicated to the organisation of cultural events in photography, is part of the selection committee of MIA and curator of Admira’s booth.
She presents different series by Michael Somoroff:

Absence of Subject: An unconventional homage to August Sander «People of the 20th century», the series is currently on view at the Sirius Arts Centre, Cork, Ireland, through June 1st.

Master Photographers: A series of intimate portraits of the greatest photographers who were his heroes and mentors.

Two Crowns of The Egg: A compelling series of portraits and nudes of Somoroff’s wife and striking vanitas. Jazz: A series of masterfully composed pictures of instruments by an instinctive classicist with a magical gift for visual rhythm.

The Vegetable Series: The first series exhibited by Somoroff at the International Center of Photography by
Cornell Capa in 1979. Stephanie Odegard, founder and creative director of Stephanie Odegard Collection, has created six astonishing rugs, Somoroff I through Somoroff VI, based on this series. One of them will be presented on the booth.
